OnePlus is banned from selling smartphones in Germany yet again

Another legal setback for OnePlus and its parent company Oppo in Germany. OnePlus is banned from selling smartphones in Germany yet again

But this time it is a dispute with InterDigital, a company with essential patents in 5G and other mobile technologies. Consequently, its 5G powered smartphones were removed from sale in its German online store (via WinFuture) with no availability date; the rest of the catalog remains available shelf, confirming some correlation between this problem and 5G tech. There is no clarity on when this ban will be lifted. OnePlus responded with a statement: ‘Our goal is, and has always been, to provide our customers with the best possible user experience. We are in negotiations and hope that Inter Digital will see how their actions could be harmful to both innovation and consumers in Europe.’
